“He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!”.

We celebrate every year Jesus’ victory over death, and we remember how the resurrection is evidence of God’s power to make all things new. The amazing news of Easter can never be forgotten. We need to reflect on this truth every day. Share this message with your family and loved ones.

Keeping kids in school is a top priority for CEDCAS

Education is incredibly important, especially for people who live in poverty as it is seen as a way out and a way towards a better life. This is why each year we raise awareness and help to provide uniforms, school supplies, book bags, scientific calculators, and computers. We offer scholarships or computers to kids who are going on to college. We have so many needs that your partnership with us is vital.
We were thrilled that we were able to help 205 kids go back to school with the needed uniforms, school supplies and back packs. We were able to help 3 other communities and all of the kids in our Club. Many of the kids will need extra supplies in July after their 2-week break. Thank you for the partnership we have that made this possible.
Another problem we have been facing is the need for glasses and dental care. At the beginning of the school year, we dd a mass screening on all of the kids. Out of the 105 kids, they need 216 dental proceedures (be it, extractions, fillings or cleanings) totaling approximately $6,480. Of the eye exams, 48 need glasses at a total cost of $960. Our partnership with you has helped us make this possible for the children. This is one of the benefits for participating in our prevention programs, as we do this for FREE.

In April, we had a volunteer, Allison Scanton, who came to work with us for 2 months as a teacher.  She has a passion for kids and helped us in the kids programs. She also stepped in to help in so many ways and one of those was helping me to learn about Google Drive, Google everything. She has the patience of Job and was always available to help me resolve my problems. She is also an expert in social media and we have been using her knowledge to make short videos for CEDCAS. She came recommended very highly by Pastor Jim Dunn from California and this was a big help. Do you know of anyone with a working knowledge of Spanish, loves kids, works with social media and loves the Lord?  We could sure use the help!  Remember to pray for us, as we reach out to so many families that need the Lord. You help us to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in Costa Rica. You can use the button below to do this. Thank you for helping me raise my support this past month.

Chelo, Beca and the girls had the opportunity to vacation in Miami. For the girls it was so special as they visited the zoo and the beach. They were able to feed the giraffe with some lettuce that they bought. They picked Miami as a short flight to make it easier on the girls. They ended up waiting for the delayed airplane 11 hours and instead of getting in at 2 pm it was 3 am. The Lord helped them to get the rent a car and the girls did pretty good. The only problem was that Lucy wanted to lay down to sleep better and this was not possible.
So glad they could take some time off and have a change of pace. Pray for them and we praise the Lord that they all kept well. Cami has lost one of her front teeth and is excited as the other one is loose. Beca and I were able to assist a conference in Panama for 3 days. It was fun to go with my daughter and watch her shine. She was asked to lead one of the discussion groups. I am so proud of her!
